Update on March 19, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT:

Today, we’re rolling out the Meta AI support assistant in countries and territories where Meta AI is currently available on the Facebook and Instagram apps for iOS and Android, and within Help Center on Facebook and Instagram on desktop, with even more capabilities and ways to help. (Updated on March 20, 2026 at 1:30PM PT to reflect availability)

When you have an account issue, you need a solution — not just a suggestion. The new Meta AI support assistant is designed to help resolve account problems for you from start to finish. It offers answers for any question — like about notification settings or new features — and if you’d like, it can also take action for you on a growing set of requests directly within Facebook and in the future, on Instagram, including:

Getting support should be simple. The Meta AI support assistant is built into Facebook and Instagram, so help is always just a tap away. It can respond to requests in under five seconds, dramatically reducing wait times compared to traditional help center searches or seeking answers on external websites.

The Meta AI support assistant is a major step in our work to deliver stronger support on our apps. In fact, among people who have provided feedback, the majority report a positive experience with the Meta AI support assistant. It’s rolling out now in all languages supported by Facebook and Instagram for support topics.

We’ve also started rolling out the support assistant to people who need help logging into their Facebook and Instagram accounts, starting with select cases in the US and Canada, and we’ll be expanding to more countries and other types of account access situations soon. We’re continuing to invest in AI-powered tools to make support more accessible, reliable, and effective — and we’ll keep evolving the Meta AI support assistant as more people use it and as the technology advances, so it continues to improve over time. Your accounts are where your memories, conversations, and connections live. Protecting them is a responsibility we take seriously, which is why we’re always working to strengthen account security and make it easier for you to get the help you need. We also recognize that support hasn’t always met expectations, and we’re committed to improving by continually investing in better support experiences for everyone who uses our apps.

Today, we’re rolling out new, easier ways to get account support and sharing updates we’ve made to keep your Facebook and Instagram accounts even more secure through advancements in AI.

The Future of Always-On Support

Getting help with your account should be simple and accessible. That’s why we’re launching a new, centralized hub on Facebook and Instagram that brings support tools and options into one place. Within the support hub, you can now report an account issue, find quick answers with the help of Meta AI-powered search, and more. This is now rolling out globally on Facebook and Instagram, on iOS and Android operating systems.

We’re also testing an AI support assistant for instant, personalized help — whether you need to recover your account, update settings or manage your profile. This is new technology that we’re testing first on Facebook globally, and we’re exploring bringing it to our other apps in the future.

How AI Is Helping Us Protect Your Account

Our AI-powered security systems are getting better at protecting your account thanks to smarter AI and stronger security tools. In the past year, new account hacks decreased by more than 30% globally on Facebook and Instagram. Our account security systems work around the clock to spot and block potential threats — like hacking and phishing —  by analyzing a wide range of signals in real time to distinguish legitimate users from attackers. These systems also block suspicious logins and flag compromised accounts before harm occurs, so you stay protected and can access your account without worry.

Over the last year, our advancements in AI have also helped us increasingly avoid disabling accounts by mistake better than ever before. And if an error does happen, our appeals process is now faster and easier, with fewer steps and AI assistance for eligible cases that helps you get a decision sooner. Our ongoing investments in our content enforcement systems mean they’re now more accurate — so you’re less likely to be affected by mistakes, and our community stays safer and more reliable for everyone.

Faster, Simpler Account Recovery

If you lose access to your account, getting back in should be quick and stress-free. We’ve updated the account recovery experience on Facebook and Instagram using AI so you can get help gaining access to your account.

What’s new:

These improvements are already making a difference. This year, we’ve increased the relative success rate of hacked account recovery by more than 30% in the US and Canada.

Simple Steps to Stay Secure

While our AI systems work behind the scenes, we’ve launched even more safety features so you can take additional steps to protect your account:

We’re committed to keeping your accounts safe and making support simple so you can focus on what matters most: connecting with your communities. Stay tuned for more recovery and support tools coming in 2026.
