We have kicked off our annual Creator Day, which celebrates creators in India who push culture forward on Facebook and Instagram. This year’s event is unique because it is taking place in person for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s taking place across five cities — Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi, and fans will get an opportunity to meet and interact with their favorite Facebook and Instagram creators for the first time at the annual flagship event.

The events are being organized with the philosophy that creators learn the most from their peers, so a lot of the dialogue around it is creator-led. Creators such as Faisal Shaikh , Jannat Zubair , Awez Darbar , Saransh Goila, Sakshi Shivdasani, Karan Sonawane and Saurabh Ghadge are ambassadors for the event in Mumbai, with outdoor ads featuring them in different parts of the city.

More than  500 creators were in attendance in Mumbai,  to hear keynotes from Ajit Mohan, Managing Director and Vice President, Facebook India (Meta) and Nicola Mendelsohn, Vice President, Global Business Group, Meta. The creators were also able to watch performances, including one from Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh who opened the event, experience content creation zones and other visual aspects of the event.

The Mumbai event was attended by Tanzanian creator Kili Paul , who has enamored India with his performances on Reels and made his first visit to the country. American creator Daniel Mac was also present, who’s best known for his “What do you do for a living?” series and has interviewed high-profile people ranging from American president Joe Biden to American television host Jay Leno.
