Facebook Ireland Unveils the Positivity Parade in Celebration of St. Patrick’s Day

Spring lambs, sea swimming, flower arrangements, dogs, mountains and sunsets are among the hundreds of positive moments people in Ireland shared as part of Facebook’s uplifting Positivity Parade, revealed today ahead of St. Patrick’s Day.

Inspired by the community spirit shown across Ireland throughout the pandemic, the Facebook Positivity Parade was created to bring people together online in the absence of in-person celebrations this St. Patrick’s Day, and to raise vital funds for mental health charity Aware.

Over the past year, people have been connecting online with family, friends and communities to combat feelings of isolation and loneliness as well as to keep busy and active while at home. Since March 2020, over a quarter of a million people in Ireland have joined hobby and interest groups on Facebook. Currently, over 215,000 people in Ireland are members of more than 19,000 Facebook Groups dedicated to mental wellness and positivity.
