New Report Details Internet Access Barriers

Today, McKinsey & Company released a new report on barriers to internet adoption around the world. Facebook worked with McKinsey on the research as part of our efforts with Internet.org.

To connect everyone in the world, we need to solve some big barriers to connectivity. By examining the social, economic and infrastructure challenges in detail, we hope this report will be useful for innovators and organizations working to develop new solutions.

To support these efforts, we’re also announcing that the first Internet.org Summit will take place next week in New Delhi, India. This event will bring together experts, officials and industry leaders to focus on ways to deliver more internet services for people in languages other than English. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO, will be taking part in the summit and also meeting with Prime Minister Modi to talk about how Facebook and the Indian government can collaborate on Internet.org.
