However, its ethical and social implications are equally raising entirely new questions. This is especially the case for social media. The effects of the digital transformation are extending into all areas of life. This is making the exchange between industry and politicians, on the one hand, and companies and different scientific disciplines and social sectors increasingly more important. Facebook wants to support this exchange. With this in mind, Facebook has initiated \u201cThe Discussion Round on Digitalism and Responsibility\u201d, in close cooperation with theologian and ethicist Prof. Dr. Peter Dabrock, Chairman of the German Ethics Council. Representatives from the sciences and society will exchange ideas and thoughts on various topics related to the digital transformation in a constructive dialogue to occur in intermittent intervals.
